Heritage Action Releases Statement Against Gov. Evers' Veto of AB 173

July 1, 2021

WASHINGTON — Today, Heritage Action, a national conservative grassroots organization, released a statement from Executive Director Jessica Anderson in response to Wisconsin Gov. Evers' veto of AB 173, a bill aimed at stopping outside interference in Wisconsin’s elections.

“It is unfortunate to see Governor Evers veto a bill designed to ensure election integrity and stop outside interference in Wisconsin elections. AB 173 would have prevented big-tech billionaires from influencing election outcomes and voting operations. With this veto, Governor Evers has told the people of Wisconsin that he has no interest in protecting their elections from outside manipulation, and has actively stood in the way of common-sense reform. The people of Wisconsin deserve to have fair elections free from outside influence.”
