WASHINGTON — Today, Heritage Action released a statement from Executive Director Jessica Anderson responding to the introduction of H.R. 4, the latest bill to centralize election power with the federal government.
“Democrats’ latest power grab would make America’s elections of the bureaucrats, by the bureaucrats, and for the bureaucrats.
H.R. 4 is a Pelosi power grab on a massive scale. The bill would forcibly and unconstitutionally take control of election procedures away from the American people and their representatives and hand it to President Biden and a legion of unelected, unaccountable federal bureaucrats who will make voter fraud easier, make fraud detection harder, and advance a Left-wing agenda over the will of the people.
To build a false sense of urgency for this unnecessary legislation, Democrats today smeared Americans who support election integrity laws as “racist” and advanced false conspiracy theories. The truth is over three-quarters of Americans support common-sense measures like voter ID, and they have supported strong state legislation to make it easy to vote and hard to cheat.
H.R. 4 is an unacceptable power grab, and every member of Congress must do everything in their power to reject it.”
